Hydropower facilities often require substantial technical expertise, engineering experience and judgement, together with integration of hydraulic and structural design with the requirements of mechanical and electrical equipment. MMP has extensive experience in the design of such facilities, drawing on specialist advice as necessary and maintaining technical contacts with manufacturers and suppliers of mechanical and electrical components. Specialist inspection services during fabrication are also offered in addition to design checking and approval of manufacturer’s drawings.

The turbines, generators and ancillary equipment associated with hydropower projects include a wide range of configurations and sizes and are covered by our experience of studying, designing and engineering hydroelectric facilities over a lengthy period.

MMP’s expertise in thermal power covers gas, coal and oil-fired generation plants.

Our thermal power generation experience includes feasibility and scoping studies, detailed design, plant specification and tender review, contract negotiations, project management and involvement in plant enhancement studies during the operations phase. We have also utilised our considerable technical expertise to great effect as lenders’ engineer on a number of due diligence assignments during the project finance process for major power plant projects.

We view alternative energy as a key engine of future growth in the Energy sector and have been cognisant of building our capabilities to ensure we have the expertise to meet the steadily growing demand in the domestic alternative and renewable energy sector.

Individually and in conjunction with our foreign associates on projects, we offer our clients assistance in evaluating renewable and alternative energy options, and implementing strategies through designing and managing alternative energy projects. MMP provided advisory services for Pakistan’s first Co-gen plant: the 94 MW DHA power and desalination plant.

In addition to developing generation projects based on existing technology, we also assist our clients through providing engineering, construction and start-up services for evaluating innovative alternative energy solutions.

MMP has a highly qualified and experienced team of professionals in the field of T&D. We have demonstrated expertise in design, planning, development and project management for transmission and distribution of electrical power ranging from 11 kV to 500 kV.
Our services have included scoping studies, preparation of prequalification documents, evaluations, and tender design including power evaluation on 500 kV transmission system. Other services we provide include comprehensive design, engineering and management for transmission line projects, as well as feasibility studies and site supervision.

We use the latest analysis and simulation software to deliver profile optimisation and tower designs that comply with international codes. We also possess extensive foundation design capabilities. MMP’s multidisciplinary team also possesses experience in assisting clients with public-private partnership models for investment, development and operations.
