Detailed Construction Supervision of RBOD-II Stage-III | Irrigation & Power Department | The Sindh Government’s Irrigation Department and CC Engineers 5 Corps have engaged MMP and ACE to carry out detailed supervision of RBOD for execution of earthwork and flood protection works. Project Management Consultancy Services for the balance work of “Islamabad International Airport Project” | Always known for our smart solutions to complex challenges, the New Islamabad International Airport, a prestigious and long-awaited project for the Government of Pakistan, was awarded to us in 2015 after it had been highly mismanaged, and the completion deadline was fast approaching. This was a crunch time for us, but we took up the challenge, and now the project’s problems are being streamlined. Since this project is designed to cater for future aviation requirements, it has been planned in two different phases. The first phase comprising 2,000 acres is for airside aviation related activities. The remaining 1,200 acres are earmarked for commercial facilities. The airport is planned for managing annual traffic of approximately 10 million passengers and cargo facility of up to 150,000 metric tonnes. The runway, taxiway, apron and other airfield facilities have been completed up to 95%, whereas the terminal building, control tower, cargo complex, and related utilities are at various stages of construction. |

Detailed Design of Motorway from Yarak on Indus Highway N-55 to Hakla on M-1 | National Highway Authority(NHA) | This proposed road is planned to be constructed as a 4-lane expressway with bridges over River Indus and culverts as per NHA standards, from Yarak near D.I. Peshawar Sustainable Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Project – Project Design Advance Detailed Engineering Design, Procurement and Construction Management | Peshawar’s first bus rapid transit project (BRT) has been planned and designed as a sustainable, low-carbon and climate resilient urban transport system. It is being developed along the main corridor in Peshawar and aims to improve the quality of public transport in the city. The total route length is approximately 26kms and has 31 proposed stops on it. The detailed design of the project has been completed by the consultants, and based on their satisfactory performance, the client awarded Mott MacDonald Ltd, in association with MMP, the contract for Project Management and Construction Supervision. Our team will also be reviewing the preliminary design and conduct detailed engineering design, as well as prepare bidding documents for civil and building works. |

Detailed Engineering Design and Procurement for Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Redline Project | Transport and Mass Transit Department, Karachi | In 2012, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided assistance to the Government of Sindh to jointly develop the detailed and comprehensive Karachi Transportation Improvement Project, comprising a Transport Master Plan and Feasibility Study for the Green and Red BRT lines. Over this 10-year assignment, the general scope of services provided by our consortium comprising NESPAK, MML, ACE and our firm included, inter alia: (i) review and update of recommendations of the PPTA consultants as required; (ii) review and update of surface water hydrology for the site to include recent discharge data for the Ravi River as well as noted and anticipated effects of recent storage provision upstream and continual raising and extension of the flood protection levees; and (iii) review of results of the 2005 hydraulic model tests as a basis on which to specify and supervise additional model studies. |

Project Supervision & Implementation Assistance of Tarbela Dam 4th Extension Hydropower Project | WAPDA | The preparation of Tarbela Dam 4th Extension of Hydropower Project (T4HP) was financed by the credit proceeds for the WCAP. The studies carried out so far have identified that this extension project on Tunnel 4, which has been designed as the irrigation tunnel, is technically and economically feasible, without affecting the irrigation release capabilities of Tarbela Dam. Studies also show that the optimum capacity of the hydropower plant on Tunnel-4 is 1,410 MW, comprising three generating units of 470 MW each, with a total annual energy output of 3,840GWh. Management Organisation to Support Implementation of the KP Education Sector Programme | Adam Smith International | DFID has allocated £ 203.5 million to support implementation of the KP Education Sector Plan (2011/12-2015/16). The Education Sector Plan (ESP) describes the KP Government’s comprehensive and ambitious strategy for the development of the elementary and secondary school sector in the province. The KP Education Sector Plan aims to increase the number of girls and boys enrolling in and successfully completing quality primary and secondary education. It aims to achieve this through ten main priorities: (i) improved and more equitable access to education; (ii) improving the quality of learning in schools; (iii) improving the curriculum, textbooks and learning materials; (iv) development of human resources; (v) improved infrastructure (e.g. school rehabilitation); (vi) rehabilitation of education in crisis situations; (vii) adult literacy and non-formal education; (viii) improved governance and management; (ix) partnerships and community involvement, and (x) partnerships with private schools through the KP elementary education foundation.
