BISP’s Waseela-e-Taleem Programme (WeT)

MMP is proud to be the implementing partner for the WeT programme, an offshoot of the BISP, where the aim is to provide conditional cash assistance to the eligible children of BISP’s Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) scheme’s selected beneficiary families. Our tasks include conducting micro supply capacity assessment of the participating public and private school facilities, social mobilisation of BISP beneficiaries, registration, enrolment and admission verification of children, and their attendance compliance monitoring. Apart from Punjab, MMP is implementing this programme in all regions of Pakistan. This project is expected to be completed by June 2018.

1410MW Tarbela Dam 4th Extension Hydropower Project

The preparation of Tarbela Dam 4th Extension of Hydropower Project (T4HP) was financed by the credit proceeds for the WCAP. The studies carried out so far have identified that this extension project on Tunnel 4, which has been designed as the irrigation tunnel, is technically and economically feasible, without affecting the irrigation release capabilities of Tarbela Dam. Studies also show that the optimum capacity of the hydropower plant on Tunnel-4 is 1,410 MW, comprising three generating units of 470 MW each, with a total annual energy output of 3,840GWh.

Our consultancy services include supporting WAPDA in project preparation studies, preparation of detailed designs, bidding documents and PC-1 including engineering, economic, environmental and social studies and construction supervision of all works and activities included under the T4HP. These works are being carried out in accordance with international standards, and form the basis for project appraisal by the World Bank and the Government of Pakistan. MMP is providing these services in association with MML, Coyne Et Bellier, ACE, and HR Wallingford. The work is expected to be completed by December 2019.

BRT Peshawar Project

Peshawar’s first bus rapid transit project (BRT) has been planned and designed as a sustainable, low-carbon and climate resilient urban transport system. It is being developed along the main corridor in Peshawar and aims to improve the quality of public transport in the city. The total route length is approximately 26kms and has 31 proposed stops on it.

The detailed design of the project has been completed by the consultants, and based on their satisfactory performance, the client awarded Mott MacDonald Ltd, in association with MMP, the contract for Project Management and Construction Supervision. Our team will also be reviewing the preliminary design and conduct detailed engineering design, as well as prepare bidding documents for civil and building works.

870MW Suki Kinari Hydropower Project

The Suki Kinari Hydropower Project is located on Kunhar river between Naran and Paras towns in District Mansehra, in the eastern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The client, SK Hydro, has contracted a consortium of MMP, MML and Yellow River Engineering Consulting Company, to provide the following services: design review – consisting of a review of both the project design and construction drawings; and project management – consisting of: review of construction plans, detailed specifications and schedules; construction supervision; quality assurance and quality control; health, safety and environmental control; verification of contractor’s invoices; contract management; and services during defects liability period. This 6-year assignment is expected to be completed in 2022.

Guddu Barrage – Rehabilitation & Modernisation

Guddu Barrage was constructed on the River Indus in District Kashmore of Sindh and was commissioned in 1962. Under this project, rehabilitation and modernisation of the barrage is being taken up through two major assignments: feasibility study and design, and construction supervision.

In collaboration with Mott MacDonald Ltd, MMP has been involved in providing construction supervision services for Guddu Barrage’s rehabilitation, including:

1. Overall quality control and project management;
2. Quality assurance system;
3. Management information system;
4. Design review and construction drawings;
5. Construction supervision and management of contracts;
6. Inspection and control of construction activities;
7. Material, equipment and acceptance tests;
8. Environmental management plan;
9. Social development action plan.

This project is expected to be completed in 2022.

2x660MW Jamshoro Coal Power Generation Project – JPCL

MMP, in association with our strategic partners Mott MacDonald Ltd, is proud to provide consultancy services on this project that holds significant national importance. Our services on this 5-year assignment are being divided into two phases and include the following tasks:

1. Data collection, capacity building and due diligence;
2. Preparation of bidding documents;
3. Tendering procedure and bid evaluation;
4. Supervision of works; and
5. Project management

The assignment is expected to be completed in 2020.
